Shri Kartikeya Stotra is devoted to Lord Kartikeya, also known as Murugan , Skanda and Subramanya. Lord Kartikeya is son of Lord Shiva and brother of Lord Ganesha. Lord Kartikeya rides a peacock and wields a bow in battle. Murugan is quintessentially brave, intelligent, and perfection personified because of which he is worshiped as the god of war and victory. He is also the brave leader of god’s forces and was created to destroy demons, symbolizing negative tendencies of human beings. Worship of Lord Murugan helps neutralize the malefic effects of Mars and brings health. Reciting Murugan stotram and prayers for Murugan is highly effective.
