The word Chakra in Sanskrit translates to wheel or disc. Chakras are Entry Gates of the Aura.They are centres of activity that receives, assimilates and expresses life force energy. They are responsible for the person's physical, mental, and spiritual functions. They absorb and transmit energies to and from the universe, nature, celestial entities, from people even from things. There are seven chakras within the body, running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The seven chakras are the centers in our bodies in which energy flows through. Blocked energy in our seven chakras can often lead to illness.
The chakra system originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC in the oldest text called the Vedas. Evidence of chakras, spelled cakra, is also found in the Shri Jabala Darshana Upanishad, the Cudamini Upanishad, the Yoga-Shikka Upanishad and the Shandilya Upanishad.
The colors of the chakras are related to the seven basic energy centers in the body. Each Chakra also has healing crystals and gemstones of co-ordinated Chakra colors, which can be used in crystal healing. Chakra color healing has a profound effect physically, emotionally and spiritually; if our Chakras are blocked or drained, then our body, spirit and mind can not function properly. (Third Chakra) The Solar Plexus chakra is located just above the navel below the center breast bone. Itβs spinal location is at the eighth thoracic vertebra. (Sixth Chakra) The Third eye chakra is frontally just above and between the physical eyes, and at the first cervical vertebra of the spine at the back.
