Snake ( Naag ) is favorite of God Shiva . Shiva wears snake as ornament in neck. The Lord wearing the deadly snake like an ornament signifies that He is independent of time and death. It also suggests the dormant energy, called Kundalini Shakti, that resides within him. In many indian temples , snakes are often seen protectiong shivlingam.
