Lord Kubera is the Lord of all the treasures on earth and even rules over the riches buried and unclaimed inside the earth. Kubera, or Kuber as he is commonly known, is the actual God of wealth in Indian mythology. Lord Kuber / Kubera is god of wealth and material possessions. He is a great Yaksha and a humble devotee of Lord Shiva. Lord Kuber is the God of wealth and money, and denotes wealth, money and success in business as well as acquisition and accumulation of wealth.As per Hindu Mythology there is a class of living beings between humans and Gods. These are known as Yakshas. They have small areas of control. Among these, the most famous is Kuber who protects and conserves money.

There are many legends of Lord Kuber but the one most famous among them is when Lord Vishnu/ Balaji/ Venkateswara at Tirupati asked him for a loan to marry Goddess Laxmi. It is believed that till today Lord Balaji is paying interest on that loan. Devotees try and do their bit and donate generously to help Lord Balaji.
