Eka Shloki Bhagavatam ( एकश्लोकी भागवतम् )

According to religious scriptures, reciting Bhagavat gives virtue and destroys sin, but in present times hardly anyone has time to read the entire Bhagavat. In such a situation, by chanting one mantra written below regularly, one gets the result of reciting the entire Bhagavat. This mantra is also called Eka Shloki Bhagavatam. 

धर्म शास्त्रों के अनुसार, भागवत का पाठ करने से पुण्य मिलता है और पाप का नाश होता है, लेकिन वर्तमान समय में संपूर्ण भागवत पढ़ने का समय शायद ही किसी के पास हो। ऐसे में नीचे लिखे एक मंत्र का रोज विधि-विधान से जप करने से संपूर्ण भागवत पढ़ने का फल मिलता है। इस मंत्र को एक श्लोकी भागवत भी कहते हैं ।।

एकश्लोकी भागवतम्

आदौ देवकिदेविगर्भजननं गोपीगृहे वर्धनम्

मायापूतनजीवितापहरणं गोवर्धनोद्धारणम् ।

कंसच्छेदनकौरवादिहननं कुंतीसुतां पालनम्

एतद्भागवतं पुराणकथितं श्रीकृष्णलीलामृतम् ।

॥ इति श्रीभागवतसूत्र ॥

ādau dēvakidēvi garbhajananaṁ gōpī gr̥hēvardhanaṁ |

māyāpūtana jīvitāpaharaṇaṁ gōvardhanōddhāraṇam ||

kaṁsacchēdana kauravādi hananaṁ kuntīsutāpālanaṁ |

hyētadbhāgavataṁ purāṇakathitaṁ śrīkr̥ṣṇalīlāmr̥tam ||

॥ Iti Shri Bhagavatsutra ॥

भावार्थ- 

आदि-मध्य-अंत रहित भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने माता देवकी के गर्भ से जन्म लिया, गोपियों के घर में इनका पालन-पोषण हुआ, गोपियों के संग बढ़े हुये, मायावी पूतना के प्राणों का हरण किया, गोवर्धन गिरि के धारक, कंस का वध करने वाला, कौरवों के संहारक, कुंती के पुत्रों की रक्षा और पालन करने वाले श्री कृष्ण की लीला के अमृत का वर्णन श्रीमद्भागवत पुराण महाकाव्य में किया गया है।

Meaning - Lord Krishna was born from the womb of Mother Devaki, brought up in the house of gopis, grew up with gopis, took the life of the elusive Putna, holder of Govardhan Giri mountain, slayer of Kansa, destroyer of Kauravas, he is one who protected and nurtured the sons of Kunti, is described in the epic Srimad Bhagavata Purana.
