Modern studies on the medical uses of different mukhis of Rudraksas merely present the colourful interpretation of Puranic versions, unscientific method for their identification and characterization, and are mainly concerned with their oral medicinal uses. This study presents a detailed analysis of physico-chemical, magnetic and electrical properties of all the fourteen mukhis of Rudraksa beads for their identification and characterization. The analysis and synthesis suggests that Puranic versions are based on scientific discoveries of ancient saints and sages.
