ॐ has many benefits. We often don't realize how potent ॐ is and value ॐ can bring in our lives and relationships. ॐ is not just sound of universe , ॐ is supreme Power . According to Vedas, the almighty, the formless Parabrahma is referred to as . The energy associated with ॐ is of the unmanifest (nirguṇ) God principle. The unmanifest energy of God is the same energy used to create the entire manifest (saguṇ) Universe. As a result, a lot of energy is generated when one chants ॐ.

Chanting of ॐ mantra invokes all possible states of consciousness. ॐ mantra is extremely healing and will keep you healthy and fit. ॐ works wonders in keeping your stress and anxiety levels under control. ॐ also begins many mantras. This immediately sends the chanter’s energy to the Ajna Chakra/Third Eye Center, filtering the rest of the mantra to the highest divine level. The ॐ chanting produces a vibration and sound which is felt through your vocal cords and sinuses. It is said that rubbing your hands together while ॐ chanting and putting those charged hands on different parts of body heals or activates those body parts. When you take deep breaths while chanting ॐ, this process improves blood circulation and oxidation of blood in our body.

There’s no right or wrong way to meditate and chant ॐ, you can chant ॐ as many times as you want, but the ideal number would be 108 times or in multiples of 108 times.

ॐ is also present in Buddhism. In Buddhism, the sacred word ॐ is placed before all mantras, the most well known one being “ॐ Mani Padme Hum” . ॐ (Aum) has been described by Dalai Lama as “composed of three pure letters, A, U, and M.

It has been found that the vibrational frequency of everything that occurs naturally is 432 Hz, which is the same frequency of "ॐ ” when chanted. The benefits of the japa of the Pranava ॐ are listed in the old books like Upanishads, Tirumandiram and in the Bhagavad Gita. "By repetition of the ॐ, one can attain liberation" - In Chapter eight of the Gita, Akshara Brahman, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna.
