Narada Purana was spoken by the great saint Sanatkumara to Devarshi Narada and contains 22,000 verses. Subjects: the story of Markandeya Rishi, the greatness of the Ganges river, the story of Sagar, the salvation of the Saudas, the story of King Bali, the major places of piligrimages, their location, and significance. Written in the style of dialogue between the sage Narada, and Sanatkumara. The whole content of Narada Purana has been divided into two parts. The first part contains four chapters which include dialogue between Suta and Shaunaka, origin of the universe, salvation, birth of Shukadeva, training of the mantras, worship rituals, provisions and the results of the various fasts observed on particular days in particular months. The second part contains beautiful tales related to various incarnations of Lord Vishnu, depiction and significance of pilgrimage centers and performing pilgrimage.
