Eka Sloki Ramayana ( एकश्लोकि रामायणम् )

Ramayana is an ancient Indian epic poem which narrates the struggle of the divine prince Rama to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana. Eka Sloki Ramayana is describing all the kandas (chapters) of Ramayana in one stanza. This Sloka says the story of entire Ramayana in brief. It is believed that reading eka Sloki Ramayana with devotion is equal to reading the entire Ramayana.

Eka Sloki Ramayana

आदौ राम तपोवनादि गमनं हत्वा मृगं कांचनं । वैदेही हरणं जटायु मरणं सुग्रीव सम्भाषणं ॥
वाली निर्ग्रहणं समुद्र तरणं लंकापुरी दाहनं । पश्चात रावण कुम्बकर्ण हननं एतहि रामायणं ॥
इति एकश्लोकि रामायणं सम्पूर्णम् ॥

aadau raama tapovanaadi gamanam hatvaa mrugam kaanchanam
vaidehee haraNam jaTaayu maraNam sugreeva sambhaash aNam |
baalee nigrahaNam samudra taraNam lankaapuree daahanam
pashchaat raavaNa kumbhakarNa hananametaddhi raamaayaNam
Iti ekashlokee raamaayaNam sampoorNam ||

एक बार श्री राम वनवास में गए । वहां उन्होंने स्वर्ण मृग का पीछा किया और उसका वध किया ।इसी दौरान उनकी पत्नी वैदेही यानि सीता जी का रावण द्वारा हरण किया गया । उनकी रक्षा करते हुए पक्षिराज जटायु ने अपने प्राण गवाएं । श्रीराम की मित्रता सुग्रीव से हुई । उन्होंने उसके दुष्ट भाई बालि का वध किया । समुद्र पर पुल बनाकर पार किया । लंकापुरी का दहन हुआ । इसके पश्चात् रावण और कुम्भकरण का वध हुआ । यही पूरी रामायण की संक्षिप्त कहानी है ॥

Then there were discussions and planning with Sugreeva for the war, Vali was killed, the ocean was crossed and Lanka was burnt. Then Lord Rama, slayed Kumbakarna and Ravana and rescued Goddess Sita . This is the story of Ramayana.
