Birthstones attract us all. Birthstones are gems that are associated with a birth month, each stone has a unique meaning and significance. Birthstones are a part of modern society and since ancient times it is widely believed that wearing your birthstone is a symbol of happiness, wellness and good fortune. Birthstones are gemstones which represent a persons birth month, each stone is a different color and has a unique meaning to each and every month. Going back to ancient times, certain gems were believed to bring good fortune if worn during specific months.
Traditionally each month is associated with one birthstone but you will find some months have multiple birthstones. This fact does create some confusion but the multiple options for some months was created in order to allow more affordable options in addition to the traditional more expensive stones. Birthstones carry secrets, attributes and lore that are unique to each gemstone. The wearing of birthstones is thought to bring good luck, good health, and protection.
